Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does it all work?

Every photography company runs their service just a little bit different. Here, we do try to keep it simple, all the while keeping perfectly informed about what our clients wishes and desires are for their session. With that said, here is a very simple outline describing how we work with YOU.

  • Client initiates Contact with Us – We Say ‘Yeah!’ – What can we create for YOU?
  • Client confirms genre and style of session they wish to be captured – We provide Questionnaire, Quotes, and Location Suggestions.
  • Client confirms selected location, desired props/attire, and quote – We provide a Contract to be signed by all parties and Invoice. We contact client within the week of session for confirmations.
  • The Session is Photographed – A Sneak Peek is provided on Social Media if approved by client.
  • Client receives an email on instructions of how to receive their product digitally within timeline of contract – We contact client for a final goodbye to ensure client’s satisfactory is above average with product.

2. Do we ever meet up in person prior to the session?

In general, no. All sessions (except Boudoir) are generally configured and set up through conversations had through email/text/social media. However, if you feel that communications would be better in person via Coffee Date, we are certainly not opposed to it. We love getting to know our clients, especially if coffee is involved. As for Boudoir, because this type of photography is so intimate and personal, we feel that it is best we converse about the session in person (but not required).

3. Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a non-refundable initial payment totaling 25% of the total price of the photography services upon signing contract to secure booking with us.

4. Do we watermark our Images?

In this day in age, images live in two areas of a person’s life. 1) In Print – on their walls, mantle, desktop, mousepads, etc. and 2) Digitally – on their Facebook page, Instagram page, etc. We always create two file formats for our clients; PRINTS & SOCIAL MEDIA. Inside the Prints collection, you will have your full-sized high-resolution JPEG images that are NOT watermarked. If you wish to have your PRINTS watermarked, please let us know and we will happily embed it. As for the Social Media gallery, the Internet poses a vulnerability in many things, one being able to easily steal and market images as one’s own. With this mindset, we decided to embed a watermark on these images. If you wish to have a social media image unwatermarked for your profile picture or cover image on your social media site – just send us a message, we would be happy to help.

5. Where do you shoot?

I think the better question is, ‘where do you not shoot?’ Lol. We have accumulated an ever-growing list of beautiful places to shoot. Some local, and some a couple hours away and in between. From deserts to beaches, from sand dunes, floral gardens, to wineries, we love them all. They are all different and unique. One thing to keep in mind when planning for your session is that we cannot control the weather. If you’re looking for a beautiful golden sunset under the Scripps Pier in La Jolla, and the marine layer starts rolling in during your session, we cannot control the weather. Unfortunately, we cannot reshoot a session due to these circumstances. So, keep an open mind and entrust us that we can make magic happen no matter where, rain or shine! For those who are unsure where to have their photoshoot, not to worry. We have taken it one step further and created a fun helpful guide for our future potential clients who inquire about having a photo session with us. We are also available through emails and simple chats to help find the perfect place for you. One last thing, if you have a grand and unique idea of where you would like to have your session that is not on our list, we are all ears! We love adventures and exploring new places.

6. When do you generally schedule a session?

We are light seekers. Constantly chasing that golden light that flatters us all so well. With that said, we generally only schedule our outdoor sessions about an hour to an hour and half prior to sunset (or if you want to be brave – half hour before sunrise). Sessions during the Late Fall/Winter/Early Spring months for outdoor locations are generally only scheduled on weekends because the light gets cut short during these months. Sessions during Late Spring/Summer/Early Fall months for outdoor locations can be scheduled during the week and weekends pending on both party’s schedules. Lifestyle and Boudoir Sessions are generally scheduled smack dab right in the middle of the day – say 10am-3pm because they are usually located indoors. Pending on both party’s schedules, the indoor location sessions can be scheduled during the week and weekends all year around.

7. Who chooses the photos for our photography package?

We give you the option to decide who chooses which photos to be included in your BRONZE, SILVER, or GOLD package. If you want us to do all the ‘heavy lifting’, we would be honored to choose the best of the best and create that beautiful storyline you are looking for. If you would like to choose your own photos, we are happy to give you that option as well.

8. Can you make me look like Cindy Crawford?

Hmm… Good Question, we haven’t tried, but I am sure we can figure something out. Just Kidding. On a serious note, professionally retouching a photograph is definitely a subjective art. Some feel that it is used way too much, while others feel that it isn’t used enough. Old Timers come to us at times and say, ‘Back in our day, we didn’t have that fancy stuff to create a good photo.’ Sure, they didn’t have the software to do so, but they also didn’t have today’s ‘Perfection Status Quo’, where the majority expects nothing less than perfection. Sure, we aren’t perfect photographers. No one is. If we happen to have accidentally underexposed a photo but captured that sweet giggle everyone was hoping for in a child session, we can utilize our software to our advantage, save the photo, and create that magical glow we are ever so known for. We don’t use it just to fix an exposure, or use it to clear up a few acne scars. We use it to be able to enhance and create magical art. We reserve the right to adjust, edit, and clean up a photo with what we feel best fits a photo, but if you have any reservations about editing styles, we are here to listen. We cannot promise anything, but we can certainly try to create something you envision.

9. Do you release original digital files, aka. Negatives, aka RAW files?

No, we do not. In protection of the company, Original Files (for example, RAW & NEF) are the exclusive property of Daisies & Clovers Photography and are not included in the work product. All photos delivered to the client are released for Client’s personal use only. Personal use includes the ability to have unlimited downloads. An extended Print Release is available to clients if requested, if they are not printing through our preferred professional printing company.

10. Do you have/own a studio?

At this moment in time, we do not have a studio. All of our work is photographed via

  • Outdoors-On Location
  • Lifestyle-In doors within your home
  • Rented studio/hotel/private residence

For further questions and answers please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would be more than happy to answer any lingering questions you may have.
